RUSSIA
| Description
|
| In 1989, the dynamic Kempinski Hotel
Group began a visionary USD 86 million reconstruction to "create
a heaven in the Russian capital in which a renaissance of culture
and business could flourish". For those involved in the evolution
of this grand scheme, it was and act of faith, a return to civility,
luxury, and comfort, in a city whose future was beginning to shine
with the promise of success.
History
| |
The edifice of the present day Hotel
Baltschug Kempinski Moscow has always been a guest house of some description
- an inn for merchants and traders, or a rooming house. Between 1928
and 1932 it operated as the Hotel Novomoscovskaya, and later became
the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow. Now the hotel's 100 year old
classic facade is all that remains of the original building, which
dated back to 1898 and the reign of Tsar Nicolas II.

Guest Rooms
| |
A room should be a place of sanctity,
reflection and repose. It is with these concepts in mind the finest
European craftsmen have designed the Baltschug's 232 luxury accommodations.
Guests' rooms are airy and comfortable, with ample space and plenty
of light. The design is distinctly Russian, combining rich red fabric
and handcrafted Bureau wood to create an environment that is relaxing
to the eye, soft to the touch and soothing to the mind. The rooms
are furnished in traditional style and many have magnificent views
of the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral and Red Square. | | Gastronomy

Guests who choose to dine within the Baltschug have a choice of
venues. The Restaurant Baltschug which serves breakfast, lunch and
dinner, is known for its special theme buffets as well as for "Linner"
(a Sunday feast between lunch and dinner).
The Shogun restaurant presents the most delicious dishes of Japanese
cuisine.
